About and Contact

A bit about me – Eve Carroll – Born in Hampshire

I grew up in a very creative environment and was heavily influenced by my mother’s love of art, as well as taking inspiration from having other artists in the family. This has now spanned through the generations and includes all disciplines; potters, print makers, painters, animators and graphic designers and illustrators.

I started my training in Fine Art and Textile design, but after 3 years of study became very interested in ceramics and pursued further training at Camberwell School of Art in London, where I gained a BA Honours Degree in Ceramics.

After leaving university in 1991 I continued to make ceramics part time as well as working with the Inner London Probation Service and Newham College of Further Education as an Art Instructor.

My training and employment history has helped me to focus on bringing art to a wider audience. I completed a further course in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University in 1998. This further training supported my practice and I realise the benefit of using art as a form of creative expression/communication and have adopted a holistic approach to my teaching.

I  have always tried to maintain a balance between both working mainly in the education sector, and continuing to be a craft practitioner/ maker, which is where my passions lie.

Having relocated to Ireland in the year 2000, I set up Eve Studio Pottery and worked from my studio/ shop situated in the town of  Blessington, located in the heart of the beautiful Wicklow mountains .

I have since returned to England in 2008 and now work from my studio at Swallow Cottage, Cople in Bedfordshire, England.
