A Bit About Me – Eve Carroll

I have been making ceramics for the last 30 years…wow time really does fly by!

I grew up in a very creative environment and was heavily influenced by my mother’s love of art, as well as taking inspiration from having other artists in the family.

I trained at Camberwell School of Art in London, and graduated in 1991 with a BA Hons in Ceramics. The school at that time, was full of inspiring tutors. Many of them leading Ceramicists in their own right.

My training and employment history has helped me to focus on bringing art to a wider audience. I completed a further course in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University in 1998. This training helped me realise my creative potential and just how important it is to follow your own creative path in life.

This further training also supported my teaching practice, realising the benefit of using art as a form of creative expression and communication.

I  have always tried to maintain a balance between both working mainly in the education sector, and continuing to be a craft practitioner / maker, which is where my passions lie.

I set up Eve Studio Pottery in London in the 90’s and worked from my studio at home as well as a craft outlet situated in East Dulwich, before moving to Ireland in 2000.

Eve Studio Pottery was based in the town of  Blessington,  in the beautiful Wicklow mountains . (Hello to all you lovely people in Ireland)

I returned to England in 2008 and now work from my studio at Swallow Cottage, Cople in Bedfordshire, England.
